Welcome

Merry-Go-Round Pre-School has been established for 20 years and is based in the beautiful grounds of Stokenham Area Primary School. We are committed to providing high quality care and education in a safe, secure and stimulating environment. Our primary aim is to support our parents in developing happy, confident children with positive attitudes to life and learning whilst also aiming to provide equality of opportunity for all children and families.

About Us

Our staff team is led by two qualified teachers, one with Early Years Professional Status (we are currently one of only a few pre-school’s in Devon to have a member of staff with this new status). All other members of staff have level three qualifications. We take children between the ages of 2 to 5 and can look after a maximum of 20 children per session. The pre-school has its own fabulous garden which has been carefully designed to offer different challenges to our children. New for this year is a large outside canopy covering our safety play surface. This will improve opportunities for outdoor activities whatever the weather.

Forest Schools

Merry-Go-Round Pre School runs a forest schools programme which we use to boost the personal, social and emotional development of children who are about to go to school. Forest school involves being outside in the woods exploring, playing and learning through carefully planned experiences. These experiences gradually challenge the child, building on his/her abilities and knowledge, opening new doors to the world outside, releasing creativity, curiosity and awareness of others. This helps children to become more confident, balanced individuals who are motivated by the joy of learning and discovery
